Monthly Book Club

Our Monthly Book Club is a fun and engaging way to explore new stories, discuss ideas, and share your love of reading. Each month, the group focuses on a different book, giving everyone a chance to dive into a variety of genres and authors. The club is led by our event planner, Carolynn, who guides the discussion and encourages thoughtful conversation. Check out the current month’s featured book below and join us for lively discussion and community connection!

Our next book club meeting is Feburary 16th at 6 p.m. at the library. This month’s book is The Girl with Seven Names by David John and Lee Hyeon-seo. If you would like to join please give the library a call and let us know!

The Girl with Seven Names is Hyeonseo Lee’s memoir about her harrowing escape from North Korea, where she grew up privileged but became disillusioned with the regime, leading to her impulsive crossing into China at 17; to survive as an illegal defector, she constantly changed identities (earning the “seven names”), faced immense dangers like trafficking and police capture, and ultimately reached South Korea, later orchestrating a perilous mission to bring her mother and brother to freedom, showcasing resilience, identity struggles, and the brutal reality of life under totalitarianism.
